About the event
The Tajogaite volcano is the most recent on the island of La Palma and in the Canary Islands archipelago. It was formed during the eruption that began on September 19, 2021, the most recent eruption on the island and in the national terrestrial geography. Located in the municipality of El Paso, on the western slope of the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park, at an altitude of 200 meters, this volcano resulted from the longest eruption recorded in the history of La Palma, lasting an uninterrupted 85 days.
